Clay Care Guide & Storage Tips
How to Care for Your Edible Clay
Our natural edible clays are pure, minimally processed, and free from additives — which means a little care goes a long way in preserving their quality, texture, and flavour.
Handling
- Always use clean, dry hands or utensils when handling your clay.
- Avoid introducing moisture into the packaging, as this can cause clumping or affect texture.
- Break off only what you need and reseal immediately after use.
Storage Tips
Keep It Dry
Moisture is the main enemy of edible clay. Store your clay in a cool, dry place away from steam, humidity, and direct sunlight.
Airtight Is Best
Once opened, transfer your clay to an airtight container or reseal the original packaging tightly. A glass jar with a secure lid works particularly well for long-term storage.
Keep Away from Strong Odours
Clay is naturally porous and can absorb surrounding smells. Store away from strong-smelling foods, spices, or cleaning products.
A Note on Natural Variation
As a natural product, slight variations in colour, texture, and mineral content are completely normal and do not affect quality. This is part of what makes each batch unique.
